VANHIVAX, HIV/AIDS: A Summary Update (Part IV)

Preventive Vaccine Against HIV in General

It should be remembered that the HIV is an enveloped virus and its envelope is taken from the CD4+ as the mature virus leaves the CD4+. The CD4+ membrane and the envelope on the HIV cannot be penetrated by any antibodies because antibodies are molecules normally too large to penetrate the cell wall or the HIV. With the use of VANHIVAX with which we can provoke a cell mediated immune response, the envelope of the virus and the covering membranes of infected cells are damaged or destroyed and this allows the viruses within to be killed by appropriate antibodies or other substances. It is thanks to the ability to provoke cell mediated immune response in the patient that VANIHAX can kill and eventually eliminate the HIV!

HIV infections in a district or region, in spite of mutations, are essentially similar. Therefore, if a culture of a viral strain prevalent in the region is made into VANHIVAX and given directly to normal uninfected persons, , in the same way as is done to patients and provokes a cell mediated immune response the vaccine will protect all of them. Normal persons who seek protection have no immune deficiencies or antibodies to VANHIVAX and so can be vaccinated directly provided a cell immune response is provoked to damage the envelope of any in-coming virus. Simple antibodies alone as a vaccine will not kill the HIV because they cannot penetrate the viral envelope! Only cell mediated immune response can damage or destroy the envelope of in-coming HIV and its killing will protect the person against the infection. A "Preventive" vaccine can thus be prepared in vitro for the region for a strain or species of the HIV is prevalent in the region!

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.

2. We thank the Massachusetts Medical Society and the NEMJ for permission to reproduce (fig.2) showing new copies of HIV budding from an infected helper T4.

VANHIVAX, HIV/AIDS:
A Summary Update

Before setting out against an enemy as formidable as the HIV, it is prudent and even very important to understand thoroughly the enemy; (1)to know as much as possible about the structure and any significant or unusual elements of the structure of the virus, (2) to interpret correctly the role played by such elements, (3) if possible the evolution of the virus and (4) to fully understand the biological consequences or effects of the presence of the virus in the body because a virus that persists must have some effects on the body.
