VANHIVAX, HIV/AIDS: A Summary Update (Part II)

Consequences of the presence of the HIV in the body.

a) Since natural antibodies to the virus also exist in the same body and their presence gives the sero-positive result on which the diagnosis of HIV is based, the antibodies make a futile immunological attempt to kill off the virus. It is futile because the envelope of the virus is impenetrable to all antibodies. Proof of futility of the antibodies is that the disease persists in spite of such antibodies. In this futile attempt, complement is nevertheless used up in all immunological attempts and complement gets shorter progressively with the progress of the disease. All HIV/AIDS patients therefore have to varying degrees, a shortage of complement. They may not necessarily be anemic although some may be. The success of any new immune responses induced by VANHIVAX, an immune reaction requires having this complement shortage corrected artificially by transfusing fresh complement from normal blood donors. Also since the HIV cannot be killed by natural antibodies, it continues to multiply and to do its damage.

b) Because the HIV carries an envelope of human (CD4+) origin, 'natural antibodies' produced against the virus are against a "hybrid" virus and are understandably ineffective. For if they were effective, they would kill not only the virus but all CD4+ as well. This would be an unacceptable situation. . So in taking its envelope from the CD4+ membrane, the HIV in addition to being impervious to antibodies, wished to 'blackmail' the immune system into not producing any effective antibodies. Effective antibodies cannot in any case, penetrate the viral envelope as stated earlier! (Other normal antibodies are effective only against non-enveloped viruses).

c) The growth and development of HIV in CD4+ cells and the loss of CD4+ wall membrane as envelopes to millions of mature HIV viruses which leave the CD4+ eventually leads to the death of CD4+. (See fig.2 below)

A fall in the number of CD4+ cells leads to a fall of the immune competence of the patient and to a rise of opportunistic infections such as tuberculosis, Kaposi's sarcoma, diarrhea diseases, fever and various skin infections or mycoses etc. This is the normal fate and the worst effect of all untreated HIV infections!

Based on the above finding and understanding, a strategy can now be worked and carried out for dealing with the HIV of patients and summarized in 2 stages.

First, thanks to the fact that one can provokes a cell immune response with VANHIVAX in the patient, this damages the envelope of the HIV virus and allows it to be killed by antibodies. This help to spares the CD4+ which increase in numbers and restore the immune competence of patient which had been destroyed or damaged by the HIV infection .

Secondly, ALL HIV patients with immune competence are then given a preventive vaccine against HIV prepared in vitro. This preventive vaccine not only eliminates the last few particles of the virus from the body and so converts the patient from sero-positive to sero-negative but also immunizes (protect) them against any further re-infection by the same species of HIV. This clearly desirable outcome can be achieved only by those with immune competence, hence the importance of getting all HIV/AIDS patients early for treatment with competent immune systems!

VANHIVAX, HIV/AIDS:
A Summary Update

Before setting out against an enemy as formidable as the HIV, it is prudent and even very important to understand thoroughly the enemy; (1)to know as much as possible about the structure and any significant or unusual elements of the structure of the virus, (2) to interpret correctly the role played by such elements, (3) if possible the evolution of the virus and (4) to fully understand the biological consequences or effects of the presence of the virus in the body because a virus that persists must have some effects on the body.
